A well-kept lawn
Although there is no ‘garden’ as such, the lawn outside the farmhouse kitchen is spacious and inviting and has been the location for football, badminton, and… water fights! It is also the best spot to sit down for evening drinks in front of the mountain sunset.
Lunch in the shade
The space between the farmhouse and the old stables is an ideal spot for summer lunches in the shade. It used to be the main passageway for arrival at the Mill. Views of the mountains are there for all to see, if people can take their eyes off all the local delicacies!
Pizzocco in a cornice
Sitting in the Belvedere provides an altogether different outdoor experience. Sheltered from any summer rainstorms, the view to the mountains and Monte Pizzocco is framed as if in a cornice of its own. Many happy evening meals have taken place there.
On firm foundations
Admittedly, the location of the pergola used to be a manure heap. No longer! But the cement foundations are firm and the wisteria that now grows above provides delightful cover for breakfast and lunch and tea.
Nature at play, at your doorstep
The river Ardo that runs just beside the house is easily accessible by foot and provides endless entertainment. Pools for bathing often form either upstream or downstream, and sometimes right by the house! Otherwise, the river is an endless source of fascination and a great place to explore.
